Courteney Cox on the Low Carb Diet
Ever wondered how petite Courteney Cox stays at 110lbs without her weight fluctuating up and down? Courteney says this is her secret: “I know what to eat and I know how to eat. If I eat pasta for dinner, I gain weight, if I eat protein, I lose weight. Everyone says I am too thin. I just have a fast metabolism.”

Growing up in the South, Courteney ate a carbo and fat-rich diet and so now she is following the Low Carbohydrate Diet which steers her away from the previous fat-rich diet and gets her metabolism moving faster.
The point of consuming a small amount of carbohydrates is to reduce or eliminate insulin production in the body and to encourage ketosis (production of ketones to to be used as energy instead of glucose). The Low Carbohydrate Diet advocates reducing the consumption of nutritive carbohydrates (net carbs) to very low levels. This means the dieter must reduce or eliminate the consumption of desserts, breads, pasta, potatoes, rice, and other sweet or starchy foods. Some recommend levels as low as 20-30 grams of “net carbs” per day, at least in the early stages of dieting.
Courteney believes in the notion that consuming fewer carbs is the key to maintaining a healthy weight as well as losing weight if you need too.
Follow Courteney’s diet by diminishing your carbohydrate intake and see what happens! In less than 2 weeks, you should start to see the pounds drop!
