How Ashlee Simpson Stays in Shape

Ashlee Simpson has broken out of her sister’s shadow (Jessica Simpson) and is now well on her way to becoming her own diva, if not even more than her sister. And there is no doubt that Ashlee always looks great, nose job or not. So how does this little sister keep up her shape with all the touring going on?

So let’s start off with a little history lesson. Although both Simpson sisters are now accomplished singers, Ashlee was always the dancer in the family. She started practicting ballet at the tender age of 3 and at 11 years old, she was the youngest student to ever get accepted at the prestigious New York School of American Ballet.

Ashlee says she tries to follow the South Beach Diet, but she also eats whatever she craves in moderation. Early in 2008, Ashlee appeared on the cover of Shape Magazine wearing only a bathing suit and she says she was proud of it, saying that this is the time in her life to do it and she is not ashamed.

Her exercise routine started when she hired the same personal trainer her sister had for the movie Daisy Dukes. She loves working out on her arms because she likes to see them toned, which means she does a lot of weight lifting. She also jogs for 40-50 minutes (4 times a week), does pilates about the same amount of time, and a lot of jumping rope. Ashlee also has to keep up her workout when she’s traveling and she does that by incorporating the local elements into her routine. So if she’s staying at a hotel, she’ll run up and down the stairs, jump rope, etc. It doesn’t matter where you are and there should never be an excuse as to why you weren’t able to work out. Just put your mind to it and get started as soon as you can!
