How Madonna Controls her Weight
You would think that at 51 years old, Madonna would start slowing down, but that’s not the case for her. Every day, she seems to be getting stronger, healthier and richer too! Even though she’s getting older, Madonna still will not put the breaks on her diet and workout routine. So what is she doing to stay in such great shape?

Madonna is extremely devoted to the Macrobiotic Diet that she has been on for years now. Clearly, this is a diet that works for her as well as hundreds of other Hollywood celebs and regular people alike. Basically, this diet is considered more of a healthy approach to life than a diet because it gets you to choose foods that are less processed and that employ a more traditional method of cooking.
The Macrobiotic Diet recommends whole grains, raw and cooked vegetables, beans, sea vegetables, mild natural seasoning, fish, fruit, nuts, seeds, and mild beverages.

Certain types of vegetables, such as tomatoes and eggplant, are avoided temporarily or used sparingly. Food should be organically grown and eaten fresh. The Macrobiotic lifestyle also provides guidelines as to how food should be prepared. Using a microwave to cook food is prohibited, and rice must be cooked in a pressure cooker. Food should be eaten and chewed slowly, in a relaxed manner.
Here are Madonna’s general guidelines while following the Macrobiotic Diet:
- Well chewed whole cereal grains, especially brown rice: 25-30%
- Vegetables: 30-40%
- Beans and legumes: 5-10 %
- Miso soup: 5%
- Traditionally or naturally processed foods: 5-10%
