According to close friends and sources, it’s true. Former OC actress Rachel Bilson is starting a new diet regimen, but it’s not what you think. Rachel’s not trying to become skinnier, but to actually add more muscle and definition to her thin frame. Is she doing this for a new role? We’re not quite sure, but whatever the reason we’re glad she’s not trying to lose weight, but rather reshape her body to a stronger, healthier one. So what’s this new diet that helps her do that?

Rachel Bilson on New Diet?

Although this diet is not new, it is new to Rachel as she has never really tried anything like it before. The diet in question is called the Food Combining Diet and is basically a diet that requires different food groups to be eaten separately at different times in order to accommodate different digestion times. Different foods also require different digestive enzymes to assist in the digestive process – some acid, some alkaline. When acids and alkalines come in contact, they neutralize each other and this impedes digestion.

This is actually a very medical diet as it is often prescribed to those who have health issues to help them recuperate and get their digestive system back on track. Rachel follows the Food Combining Diet by looking at a chart which tells her which foods should be eaten together and which shouldn’t. The chart for the Food Combining Diet is basically an easy way for the dieter to keep track of the different food combinations.

Aside from following her new diet, Rachel also tries to hit the gym as often as possible, although her schedule doesn’t always allow her to do that. The actress is a big jogger but this time she’s hitting the weights as she wants to put on a little muscle and definition. The strength-training she will be doing as well as the weight lifting combined with the Food Combining Diet will ensure that Rachel will get the results she wants.
