The Master Cleanse Diet: Day 1

So I’ve decided to go on the Master Cleanse Diet which is also known as the Lemonade Diet, for about 15 days. I’m hoping to lose about 20 pounds, so depending on how the weight loss goes, I might even go up to 20 days.

For those of you that don’t know what the Master Cleanse Diet is please click on the link. But, in a nutshell, it’s basically a detoxifying fast that you keep up for a minimum of 10 days where you only drink a mixture of freshly squeezed lemon juice, grade B maple syrup, water, and cayenne pepper.

During this time, you cannot eat anything. Every morning before drinking your lemonade, you must also do a saltwater flush which is 2 teaspoons of sea salt mixed with a glass of lukewarm water. Before bed, you should also drink a natural laxative tea to help with digestion.

DAY 1 OF THE MASTER CLEANSE DIET

I woke up and made myself the saltwater flush mixture which tasted absolutely disgusting. You’re supposed to drink an entire glass, but I could only get through half of it as I could barely keep it down.

I then made my lemonade juice for an entire day. Here is my recipe:

  • 10 cups of water
  • 1 1/4 cup of grade B maple syrup
  • freshly squeezed juice from 5 organic lemons
  • 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper

I mixed it all in a jug and started drinking it. The lemonade actually tastes really good and I have no problems with it whatsoever.

Today is only the first day, but it went pretty smoothly, other than the fact that I can’t stop thinking about food! So 1 day down, 14 left to go! I am currently at 131.4 lbs and would like to get to 110lbs. So I will be updating this every single day and I will let you all know how I am doing!
